The mission of Institutional Research and Planning is to enhance institutional effectiveness by collecting, analyzing, maintaining, and providing data to support university decision-making and planning processes along with ensuring compliance with state, federal and other external reporting requirements. As the official source of institutional information, the office of Institutional Research and Planning is guided by official reporting protocols and best practices in the field.

Institutional Research and Planning not only handles requests for data and mandatory reports to state, federal and other agencies, but we also provide consulting for complex research projects, initiatives, planning, and assessment. This includes providing official institutional data, analyses, and research to support and improve decision-making. In support of this mission, IR:

  • Provides data for the institution’s accountability and compliance with accrediting agencies and government entities;
  • Collects, analyzes, and provides campus administrators with appropriate data and information;
  • Coordinates planning, budgeting, evaluation, and course evaluation processes; and
  • Responds to data requests and surveys
